Alternatives to Hetzner Windows Remote Desktop without KVM
Hetzner, a popular cloud service provider, does not officially offer installable Windows images for their cloud VPSs. While it is technically possible to install Windows on Hetzner by uploading your own ISO image, the licensing implications should be considered because when Windows is installed from a self-provided image, Hetzner does not automatically bind that installation to a license, and Windows remains in evaluation mode until the trial period expires, leading to additional costs if a legitimate copy of the operating system is needed. For users who prefer a hassle-free installation and a legitimate Windows license, the following alternative providers offer VPSs with Windows preinstalled and include a validated license in their price. The hypervisor of these instances may either be Proxmox, Hyper-V or even KVM if the host itself runs on Linux.
