Contabo offers a selection of Virtual Dedicated Servers (VDS) ranging from the model S, the smallest and cheapest in the series, to the model XXL, the largest and most expensive. The difference between a VPS and a VDS is that Contabo shares the CPU cores among multiple tenants on their VPS plans, while they reserve each core to the exclusive use of a single tenant on their VDS plans. There are no other differences between the two classes. However, Contabo is known for overselling their physical hardware to hundreds of tenants per host machine, to the point of severely degrading the performance of their virtual servers.
